The past twelve months has been an influx of being in and out of lockdown, our daily lives as we know it, completely interrupted. No longer can we pop for a cocktail after work or out for lunch on the weekend. It can mean that days quickly merge into one and you find yourself getting increasingly bored as the time goes on. After all, there’s only so many times you can go for a walk around your local park. You want to find new things to do that can keep you and anyone you live with occupied. This is why we have put together some top ideas for things to do during lockdown…
Get a home workout going
Gyms are closed, it’s freezing outside and there are so many reasons you can think of to not do exercise. Try and change your mindset as any exercise you do, your body will be grateful for. The best thing to do is get motivated with a fun workout app or video, invest in some cool workout gear such as curvesncombatboots.com range of workout clothes, and get the music pumping. Your mind and body will thank you for it later! Whether it’s yoga, body pump or pilates, there are so many choices out there you are sure to find one you love.
Do something arty
Whether you are a budding Picasso or have never dared pick up a paintbrush in your life, why not make lockdown your time to shine? Pick up some cheap art stuff (you can invest in more pricey stuff once you’ve found what you enjoy) and just let your creativity run rampant. You could create paintings, do some sketching, or get into 3d modelling. Whatever you choose, it is a great boredom buster that you might grow to love.
Recreate your favourite restaurant experience
As a nation full of foodies, lockdown has been hard on us all. While our favourite eateries remain shut, why not recreate your favourite restaurant experience at home? It could be that you have a special occasion coming up, or just want something different to do on a Friday, no matter, for this is a great boredom buster and something to remember. Set your dining table out like a restaurant, complete with tablecloth and napkins and cook up a three course meal. You could also order from a local restaurant if you don’t fancy cooking. Want to up it a notch? Why not open a bottle of fizz or get creative and make some cocktails?
These are just a few ideas that you can do during lockdown to make the time go a little bit easier. Remember, if you work from home or for yourself it can be tempting to do this late at night or even at the weekends, just as something to do. Try to refrain from doing this and instead let your body and mind relax. You will find you are more motivated when 9am rolls around on Monday that way. What are some things you have been doing to keep yourself amused during lockdown? Let me know in the comments below.
